HCC at the PAHO 61st Directing Council

With the support of the NCD Alliance, Maisha Hutton, HCC Executive Director, attended the PAHO 61st Directing Council from 30 September – 4 October 2024, along with other civil society advocates including The Healthy Latin America Coalition (CLAS, Coalición Latinoamérica Saludable), World Obesity Federation (WOF) and Global Access to Pain Control and Palliative Care (GAPCPC).

At the Council, HCC delivered three statements in response to the following agenda items.

  1. Statement on Provisional Agenda 4.3 – Policy for Strengthening Equity-Oriented Health Sector Action on Climate Change and Health (Resolution CE174.R15 [2024])
  2. Statement on Provisional Agenda 4.7 – Strategy and Plan of Action to Strengthen Tobacco Control in the Region of the Americas 2025–2030 (Resolution CE174.R7 [2024])
  3. Statement on Provisional Agenda 8.10 C – Strategy on Health-related Law: Progress Report (Resolution CD54.R9 [2015])
