See the Truth Webinar

by HCC

In support of the See the Truth campaign, HCC and partners hosted a webinar on 22 February 2024.  The webinar, brought together civil society advocates, academics and policymakers to share experiences of weak governance and industry interference, and discussed strategies to protect NCD policymaking processes from interference.

The See the Truth campaign was launched on 22 January 2024, by the Healthy Caribbean Coalition (HCC) and Partners, the Heart Foundation of Jamaica (HFJ), the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Barbados (HSFB), and the Jamaica Youth Advocacy Network (JYAN). See the Truth,  a six-week long, regional social media campaign aimed to promote healthy food policies – like the front of package octagonal warning label (FOPWL), building support for the implementation of measures to safeguard policymaking processes by highlighting industry interference tactics deployed during the CARICOM Standards Approval process in opposition to octagonal warning labels and the PAHO nutrient profile model. See the Truth complements HCC’s broader advocacy to support the implementation of healthy food policies across the region and builds on previous campaigns such as Make it Make Sense, People Over Profit and Octagonal Warning Labels Help Consumers Act on Facts.
