Caribbean Civil Society-Led Advocacy Priorities for the Fourth United Nations High-level Meeting on the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases – September 2025
As part of the preparatory process for the Fourth United Nations High-level Meeting on the Prevention and Control of Non-communicable Disease (HLM4) in September 2025, the Healthy Caribbean Coalition (HCC) Secretariat has put in place a consultative process to identify HCC HLM4 advocacy priorities aligned with the NCDA priorities for HLM4, for ratification by HCC membership and regional partners. This process will enable civil society in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) to contribute to the preparatory process, and to bring the HCC civil society HLM4 advocacy priorities to the attention of CARICOM representatives and other stakeholders in the lead up to the HLM4.
The Draft Document ‘CARIBBEAN CIVIL SOCIETY-LED ADVOCACY PRIORITIES FOR THE FOURTH UNITED NATIONS HIGH-LEVEL MEETING ON THE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES (HLM4)’ containing the HCC HLM4 advocacy priorities (Acknowledgements and Executive Summary pending development) is being disseminated to key stakeholders for review and feedback.
The consultative process consists of an online stakeholder survey (below) and a virtual Zoom meeting on Wednesday 20 November from 12.30pm – 2.00pm AST. Register here for the virtual meeting.
The brief survey facilitates stakeholder comments and suggestions in preparation of the penultimate and final versions.
The Draft Document can be viewed at this link. If you would like to add specific comments to the Draft Document using track changes or comments, you may download and return to Maisha Hutton at maisha.hutton@healthycaribbean.org by 18 November 2024.
Once you have completed your review of the Draft Document, please answer the questions below. Please be as brief as possible in your narrative comments. We look forward to your responses.
SURVEY
Thank you for taking the time to provide your input into the DRAFT Caribbean CSO HLM4 Advocacy Priorities.
We look forward to reviewing your feedback.
Post the consultation, our next step will be to finalise the priorities and develop a shared dissemination and sensitisation plan to build stakeholder awareness and support for the advocacy priorities in lead up to the HLM4. This will involve mapping out national and regional activities and providing capacity building support where necessary.
Finally, don’t forget to register for our virtual session where we will review the feedback and discuss next steps.
