How was your experience with the HCC: My experience has truly been a rewarding one. I am so grateful that I was given the opportunity to work on a project that I am very passionate about. The Nutrition Label Project allowed me the opportunity to speak with Barbadians about their attitudes toward Nutrition labels and the recently implemented sugar sweetened beverage tax . I was also able to gain a better understanding of the realities of buying food and eating well in Barbados through personal stories by individuals we interviewed. It was an unforgettable experience.
Everyone on the HCC team is so driven and determined to make our Caribbean region a healthier one. I had such a great experience working with Maisha and the other members of the team who are so supportive.
It was a pleasure working with an organization that continues to be a powerhouse in the field.
Future plans: I look forward to completing my degree and specifically focusing my efforts on the prevention and management of chronic diseases.
