The Guyana Chest Society hosted its first media sensitization workshop on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at the Herdmanston Lodge, 65 Peter Rose and Anira Sts. Queenstown, Georgetown. The session was hosted under the theme “Media Sensitization and Capacity Building – Tobacco Control” and focused on arming the media with needed tobacco control information to be equipped as a vehicle aimed at exerting pressure on policy makers to act on the implementation and governmental obligations under the World Health Organisation Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.
