The time has come to establish a Tobacco Control Coalition in Trinidad and Tobago
Civil society has a central role to play in accelerating tobacco control action. If you are a civil society organisation in Trinidad & Tobago - we want your input. Tobacco use is the leading preventable agent of death in the world today and is responsible for more than six million deaths each year. Unless urgent action is taken to reverse this global epidemic, the World Health Organization expects that tobacco will kill as many as one billion people this century, taking a greater claim on human health than any single disease. Tobacco is the only legally available product which, when used as the manufacturer intends, kills half its users.

Pillows of Harmony Trinidad & Tobago Globeathon Walk

This walk took place on Sunday 7th September from 9am people walked from Ariapita Avenue around the Queens Park Savannah and back to the Pillars of Harmony where the Cancer Society and Dr Jacquline Sabga lectured to the group. 93 attended and most gave support by purchasing a tee shirt. $5400 TT was raised which is about $900 usd that was donated to the Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society. T-shirts are still on sale and patrons are still purchasing in support. It was an awesome event see the video here

Christine Bocus youth advocate living with an NCD - Christine Bocus, a youth advocate living with an NCD, recently presented at the Latin American Congress of Pediatrics in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, these are her remarks. My name is Christine Bocus, 23 years of age. From birth I was brought up in Christianity through the Nistar Presbyterian Church. As I grew older, I began my academic journey starting at the age of 5. As I proceeded further into secondary school, at form 3, age 14, to be precise, I was diagnosed with a 3rd degree heart block, as described by the doctors who attended to me.
