Thelma Johnson, President of the Bahamas Heart Association (sister organisation of the Sassoon Heart Foundation) was also present. During the visit Professor Hassell shared information about the HCC and extended invitations to both organisations to become active and strong supporting membes of the HCC. At the conclusion of the visit Professor Hassell commented that these three organisations were among the oldest NCD related health NGOs in the Caribbean and provided respectively outstanding service to the people of the Bahamas in the prevention and treatment of cancer, in surgical correction of heart problems in children and in the prevention of heart disease.
