Jamaica Cancer Society Relay for Life Another Big Success

The Jamaica Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is a life-changing experience that provides every Jamaican with the opportunity to vacate their homes, their offices, their schools, and their communities, and unite for a single night to celebrate cancer survivorship, which highlights the resilience and the determination of those individuals who continue to inspire and reaffirm the mission of the Jamaica Cancer Society, and in a more personal way, reinforce the need for all of us to continue to fight back against this disease until a cure is found.

Jamaica Cancer Society Relay for Life Another Big Success

The opportunity is also given to remember loved ones who fought, but lost the battle to the disease. The true spirit of volunteerism throughout Jamaica has grown tremendously over the years through this event, now in its 12th year. Through Relay For Life, Jamaica now contributes to the global fight against cancer, as a portion of the funds raised is channelled through the American Cancer Society to support the global research initiative. The HCC is a regional network of Caribbean health NGOs and civil society organizations with the remit to combat chronic diseases (NCDs) and their associated risk factors and conditions. Our membership presently consists of more than 50 Caribbean-based health NGOs and over 55 not-for-profit organisations and, in excess of 200 individual members based in the Caribbean and across the globe.
