Healthy Caribbean Coalition - Strategies to Reduce Sodium Intake in the United States

Great news from the United States. The Institute of Medicine Report recommends setting mandatory national standards for the sodium levels that food manufacturers, restaurants, and food service companies can add to their products in the US, and that all of the relevant health agencies should be involved in achieving this.
The Food and Drug Administration’s role, as envisioned in the report, will be to set the new standards, which can be phased in gradually allowing tastes to adjust over time.
