Physical activity day organized by the Seventh - day church in Dominica and
Barbados took place
on Sunday April 4th 2010.
Dr.Jacob PHC director Ministry of Health who also participated in the walk with her family. About 250 persons walked from various locations to the town of Portsmouth.
Following which other activities took
place including sea bathing, relaxation and a cricket match.

A similar walk took place in Barbados culminating at Queen's Park. An
address was delivered by the chief medical officer Dr. St.John And President
of East Caribbean Conference Pastor David Beckles. Both adults and children participated in the activities.
Our ultimate goal is to reduce the incidence and prevalence of obesity among
adults children and young people thus reducing the burden of CNCD's in
Dominica, Barbados and the wider Caribbean I was able to speak to the group in Barbados via mobile speaker phone.
