Healthy Caribbean Coalition - be active ‘09 Conference - Brisbane Australia 14-17 October 2009
We would like to invite you to register for the “be active ‘09” conference, which is to be held in Brisbane
from 14-17 October 2009.
"be active '09" combines the 2009 Australian Conference of Science and Medicine in Sport, the Seventh National
Physical Activity Conference and the Sixth National Sports Injury Prevention Conference. The conference will bring
together some of the finest speakers from Australia and around the world to present a comprehensive scientific
forum on all facets of these fields - from elite sports performance to community participation in physical activity
and their impact on individual and public health.
It also provides an opportunity for YOU to present YOUR work in areas of research, practice or policy in the fields
of sports medicine, sports science, physical activity promotion and injury prevention. The conference showcases the
latest developments through keynote and invited presentations, symposia, free papers, posters, practical workshops and
a trade exhibition.
The programming of each of the conferences will be guided by themes which build towards the common goal of
“be active ‘09”. These themes are:
- Active Sports Medicine for all
- Re-Activating Australia
- Staying Safe to Be Active
This combined event will give delegates with a common interest in sport, physical activity and health an opportunity
to network and build new relationships across traditional disciplinary boundaries, as well as to renew old and make new
friendships.
We look forward to welcoming you to Brisbane in October.
With best wishes Professor Wendy Brown – Conference Coordinator
Dr Anita Green – ACSMS Scientific Chair
Professor Adrian Bauman – NPAC Scientific Chair
Associate Professor Leonie Otago – NSIPC Scientific Chair
