CABINET DECISION DATED - TUESDAY 16TH MARCH 2010 ‘Smoke and Tobacco-Free working Environments within the Public Service of Antigua and Barbuda – Effective 31st May 2010’ “23. Cabinet agreed that effective Monday 31st May 2010 smoking and the use of tobacco products are not permitted by anyone on any premises or in any vehicle owned, operated or leased by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. All smoking materials must be totally extinguished before entering any premises or vehicle owned, operated or leased by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.”

  • Monday, 31st May, 2010 Launching of the smokers body and smoke free zone Venue: University of Guyana – Turkeyen Campus ( Tarmac) Start : 10:00 a.m.
  • Friday, 4th June, 2010 Launching of the smoker’s body and smoke free zone Venue: Cyril Potter College of Education - Auditorium Start: 10:30 a.m.
  • Friday, 11th June, 2010 Launching of the smoker’s body and smoke free zone Venue: University of Guyana – Tain Campus Auditorium Start: 10:00 a.m.

Turkeyen campus buildings now smoke free zones - On June 1, 2010

The University of Guyana yesterday teamed up with the Ministry of Health and declared the buildings on campus smoke free zones as World No Tobacco Day was observed. On the tarmac at the Turkeyen Campus, feature speaker, Health Minister Leslie Ramsammy congratulated the university for being bold enough to join the fight and for picking World No Tobacco Day to do so. read more....
